The Asian Community Fund at The Boston Foundation Celebrates 2024 Grant Recipients

The Asian Community Fund (ACF) at the Boston Foundation hosted the recipients of their 2024 grantmaking cycle for a luncheon on Tuesday, August 13 at Sumiao Hunan Kitchen in Cambridge, MA. Convening ACF's incredibly diverse partner network of AAPI leaders and AAPI-serving nonprofits to celebrate their collective achievements in advancing AAPI visibility and leadership, fostering connections across the community.
In attendance were several organizations representing APPI-serving arts organizations including:
Angkor Dance Troupe, Artists for Humanity,1975: A Vietnamese Diaspora Memorial, Korean Cultural Society of Boston, Company One Theatre, Boston Festival Orchestra, Global Arts Live, Pao Arts Center, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and Stage Ensemble Theatre Unit Inc.
As well as APPI-serving mental health serving organizations including: Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence and Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center.
Through ACF's 2024 grant cycle $450,000 was awarded across 52 nonprofits serving Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities across Massachusetts, distributing $140,000 across arts and cultural organizations and $75,000 across mental health organizations. This year's grants bring the fund's cumulative grantmaking to more than $1M, which has been dispersed to 81 nonprofits since 2022.
As the only philanthropic fund in Massachusetts dedicated to developing, strengthening and supporting AAPI community power, ACF's grantmaking aims to expand the capacity of the local AAPI nonprofit and business sectors while responding to emerging community needs. This year's grant recipients were selected for their work in advancing AAPI community empowerment through convening, catalyzing, and capacity building.
