Christy Cashman honored at Boston Arts Academy Foundation's 2024 Honors event

Back Bay resident, Christy Cashman, was honored at Boston Arts Academy Foundation's 2024 Honors event at MGM Music Hall at Fenway last week. The actress, author and producer was recognized as the 2024 TV + Film Honoree.
Outside of TV, Christy Cashman is a mother, philanthropist and an active member of the Boston literary community. She is on the board of directors for the Associates of the Boston Public Library and is the founder of YouthINK, a not-for-profit mentorship program for young artists in the United States and in Ireland, and YOUthink Adult Creative Wellness Retreats. The film adaptation of her novel, The Truth About Horses is currently in development alongside award-winning actress, Jane Seymour.
In addition, she has published two children's books, The Not-So-Average Monkey of Kilkea Castle and Petri's Next Things. She is currently working on her second novel, Beulah, and on her third children's book. Cashman is credited as an Executive Producer for The Kids Are All Right and has appeared in many films including The Forger, American Hustle, Joy and the short film Descendants alongside Whoopi Goldberg, and more. She serves on the advisory board of Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Epiphany School and is a founding member of the American Film Institute National Council. Cashman formerly co-hosted "Open Book Club" on New England Cable News and hosted "Back Story" for the CBS show "Style Boston."
Several other well-known artists, performers, designers and philanthropists were honored at the event with a special guest performance from singer and songwriter James Taylor. BAA students performed with music icon James Taylor. In total, $1.65 million was raised to benefit Boston Arts Academy students.
